Great Story Windy. It reminded me of a stop my wife and kids made about 20 yrs ago at Fort Tejon on the grapevine. Touring the museum there we came across a piece of bark that had grown over a tree arborglyph. You may know of it. it said something like “buried here lies Lebec killed by a grizzly. The story is it was found by a officer’s wife while on a picnic. Had to have been carved well before the fort was built which was before the civil war.
    Keep up the writing!
